Hey everyone! I wanted to let you know about a website I discovered recently called kickstarter.com. Kickstarter is a great platform for artists to launch campaigns in order to raise money for projects. My project is a new record. Labels spend well over $150,000 on the production of records. I am doing one for a fraction of that cost. The money will go toward studio costs, musicians, mixing, mastering, artwork, and duplication. It adds up really fast! But, I believe this record will be the best it can be and, with your help, my music will be heard and my heart will be shared...
Here's how it works:
I will set a fundraising goal through Kickstarter that, when raised, will be used to fund my project. There are various goods and services given to those who donate. Once I launch my campaign, you will see what the "perks" are. They start small and increase with the amount donated. Those who donate are not charged until the project reaches it's deadline and is fully funded. BUT, there's a catch. I have to be 100% funded in order for it to work. In other words, if I am just $5 short of my goal, I get NOTHING and you are not charged. I've been able to get two songs recorded so far, and now I'm asking you to help me get this record finished! I'll be letting you know as soon as I have a launch date for my campaign. I have the greatest fans in the world and I know you guys will come through for me.
